Rising With The Dawn

A Meditation

There is a time in the day recognized and named in Yoga as an auspicious moment. It is called Brahmamuhurtha. Waking before, or with the dawn, is mystical. It doesn’t actually need a special name, or any instructions, or a fact sheet. It inspires reverence. There is no wonder that this moment is noted in spiritual traditions, named or commented upon by every poet, priest, and mere mortal.

Rising with the dawn is a gift you give to yourself, often, or every now and again. It is a moment that is never the same, can not to be repeated, and is not to be missed. Give yourself the gift of awe, of stillness, of emptiness and fullness, of connection, of imagination and inspiration. Rising with the dawn is being present for the breath that begins the day with beauty.

Here is a link to an exquisite short clip called IRO: The Japanese Philosophy of Color and Imperfection. It takes you on a journey through a world of color inspired by the dawn, and gives that precious moment an array of names that point to its fleeting subtleties. We hope you will appreciate it as we do, and take the time to rise up.
