T&G's AB (&J) Overnight Oats


Everybody's into overnight oats these days.  It's a great way to have an energizing breakfast or PM snack really to roll. You can be as creative as your imagination allows with the recipe below.  It's kind of endless once you get in the flow. The almond extract makes it more exotic, but I find it's also a bit of a love-hate relationship with people.  You can use vanilla extract in its place, or none at all, given that the maple syrup has its own fabulous essence. I happen to love this mix for our morning jam.


1/2 cup rolled oats

1 Tbs chia seeds

3/4 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice)

1/4 tsp almond extract 

Pinch of sea salt

Maple syrup to taste 

Dollop of crunchy salted almond butter

Optional: dollop of strawberry, fig, or raspberry jam (ideally all fruit, no sugar added)


Place oats, chia seeds, and a pinch of sea salt in a bowl, mason jar, or glass container. Add almond milk, maple syrup to taste, and almond extract.  Stir well to make sure the dry ingredients are completely wet. Cover and place in the fridge overnight. Before enjoying, top with crunchy salted almond butter (and jam).  Yum... that's the sound of your heart chakra chanting, thank you.
