Dear Friends of the Lotus, |
Happy Holidays? Every platitude under the sun may come out during this time of year. Well intended as they are, we sometimes gloss over their true and deeper felt holiday meaning. Instead of becoming cynical, numb, or dazed as we rush thru cyber celebration and overextended schedules, or as we quietly sink into our shells reeling from the superficially heightened state of togetherness this season can accentuate, we invite you to pause.
The possibility exists for us to turn inward and reflect as this time naturally calls us to do. The shorter days, the extended dreamtime of the dark nights and early mornings bring the opportunity to draw sustenance from within. This is an innate time of inner reflection.
Avail yourself of the moment. Take pre-dawn mornings to be present as the sun rises. Stay up late or set an alarm and rise at an hour you normally would not dream of to watch the sky for the Geminid meteor showers late on December 13th 'til dawn on the 14th. Nature never fails to fill us with true wonder, reflection, awe, and connection.
Take time to breathe, even if only for one conscious breath. The first breath is a step towards the journey inward. Take to your mat for quality time. A sitting practice cultivates its own rewards. Inspire a home yoga practice by creating a committed space. It only takes 72 by 30 inches. Create your own ritual that allows for time with yourself that you may be filled with the true gratitude of your heart. If you are fortunate enough to hit that resonate note it will authentically be available to share with others.
We wish you a moment of stillness. We wish you equilibrium. We wish you well being.
With love and gratitude,
Tracey and the White Lotus Yoga family |

Restorative Yoga addresses the underlying systems and rhythms of the body nurturing greater well being. This skillful way of practice helps us return to a deeper state of relaxation.
Restorative Yoga specializes in balancing stress and tension with deep relaxation. Using props, breathwork, passive engagement of muscle groups, and attuning to energy flow, the body is supported while gently opening into the poses.
Learn to take care of yourself and your students with this enriching system. Restorative Yoga is an invaluable aspect to the wholeness of any Yoga practice.
We invite you to join White Lotus and Phoebe Diftler for week of nurturing, radiant well being. This program is open to yoga students, teachers, and anyone wanting to immerse themselves in a week of Restorative Yoga.

From the White Lotus Kitchen
Warm Winter Apples
Apples are one of the symbolic celebrations the season. They herald that the harvest is in. This delicious recipe for Warm Winter Apples makes a lovely breakfast or a satisfying, healthy dessert. Tart apples juxtapose the sweet flavor of cinnamon (good for balancing blood sugar) and are accompanied by a spicy nip of nutmeg. The ingredients are fragrantly wrapped in the scent of vanilla which always works to calm our senses. These warm apples are a perfect expression of the season.
This beautiful recipe is shared by our new chef, Tamara Evertt. It is just one of the many gifts she brings to the White Lotus Kitchen where our food philosophies meld and her talents for inspiring well being blossom into delicious, plant-based, farm-to-table meals that are quickly making her a beloved new member of the family.
Warm Winter Apples are simply perfect on their own. They are also delicious served with...
