SIVA PRANAYAMA
Simple Breath Meditation

Sit comfortably on a chair, cushion or the floor with your back straight
Inhale for a 5 to 10 count using either your natural breath or Ujjayi
Hold your breath for an equal amount of time (5 to 10 count) making sure your lungs
        are comfortably full
Exhale for the same 5 to 10 count
Repeat for 10 to 20 rounds

Keep your attention on the sound of your breath, trying to create a smooth, rhythmic flow.

This simple breath meditation calms and centers the mind, balances your energy, and strengthens tones and builds your lung capacity, creating a greater vitality.

BEATRIX'S FAMOUS GRANOLA

Guests at White Lotus go crazy for Beatrix’s granola. On occasion they have been found hunting the kitchen cabinets late at night looking for her breakfast stash. The smell of home made granola sweetens your home with a fabulous, heart warming nostalgia. Be it the roasted oats, the mouthwatering nuts or the aromatic intoxication of cinnamon and maple, this recipe begins to tempt you long before you even eat it! Enjoy it as a healthy breakfast with almond, soy, rice, or real milk or yogurt. It is also sinful snack by the handful or a nurturing bedtime treat on cold winter nights… it’s all good.

5 cups organic rolled oats
3/4 - 1 cup light oil (i.e. grape seed oil)
1/2 cup each chopped or whole
walnuts
almonds
sunflower seeds
cashews (or any other nuts you like)
coconut flakes
1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
3/4 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon salt

Mix all ingredients in a baking dish. Bake in a 300 degree oven, stirring frequently.
The granola is done when it is golden brown.
Let cool down before storing in airtight container.
